How to Trust Our Internal GPS

One thing I’m continuing to learn is to trust my internal guidance system. The more I do this, the more happiness and fulfillment flows.

So, what exactly does this mean?

To me, it means…
Trusting your gut.
Listening to your intuition.
Knowing yourself on a deep level.
Making decisions easily.
Discerning things right away.

I believe we all have an internal GPS. Go here, then go there. Do this, now do that. Turn right, then left turn. Yes, no.

You may have heard the saying, ‘If it’s not a hell yes, then it’s a no.’  So, ask yourself… what in your life is not a ‘hell yes?’ I think the answer to that question is a good indicator of what you can live without (the ‘no’s’). This could be a bad habit, a terrible job, too much junk food, a toxic relationship, or an aspect of your environment. It’s also a good check-in to see if you are following your internal guidance system.

This reminds me of the lesson in Marie Kondo’s book,The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. She has you ask yourself the question, ‘Does this item bring me joy?’ Although she’s referring to decluttering your home, I think it’s a great principle to apply to life as well. A follow up question you can ask yourself could be, ‘Is this worth investing time in to see if it could be more joyful?’

Hell yes? Or no?

I think decision-making gets easier the better we know ourselves, the stronger our self-trust is, and the more trusting we are in the universe and the process of life. Always remember, the yearnings we have in our hearts are real, don’t give up on them. Follow the love. Trust that GPS.
