Unfiltered Advice from My Soul to Yours

Tonight I opened all my windows and ‘saged’ and ‘palo-santo’ed’ my house (yes I just turned those into verbs). If you’re on the spiritual train like me, you know that it’s good for clearing out negative, stale energy and for up-leveling the general feeling or vibration in your space.

The ‘ol… ‘out with the old, in with the new’ phenomenon. Sometimes we just need a little help from symbolic treasures we can burn.

But, I digress.

There’s a lot of ‘out with the old, in with the new’ happening in my life right now.

In fact, if I reflect back on the past 10ish years, I see a theme… If something feels stagnant, I give it a little refresh.

Here is some unfiltered advice I’ve learned along the way in case your soul needs to hear it.

Move. Do it. Don’t look back. If you have that inkling in your heart, go for it. You can do it.

You are not a failure. Seriously, there’s nothing you can do to fail at life. There’s no such thing. There’s only lessons.

Always do your best. And only you will know if you’re doing your best because you are the only one with that internal ‘best barometer.’ Trust in that. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

You don’t have to change yourself. Hear it again. You don’t have to change yourself to be loved. Just be you. Be exactly who you are. Run at the pace you want to run at. It’s perfect.

Overcoming ‘food issues’ is freeing, but releasing weight isn’t the secret to solving all of your problems. Never ever feel shame about that. You are only human. The important thing is that you love yourself fiercely. It’s okay to be a work in progress.

The essence of who you are is beautiful. It’s sacred. Yes, you might have things you want to improve on, but don’t be so hard on yourself for not having it all figured out yet. We never have it all figured out.

Use your voice. I know it’s hard, but use it. Be gentle with yourself as you learn how. And let situations where you don’t use it, be beautiful lessons for you to learn and grow.

Say no when it doesn’t feel right. Say yes when it does.

Be curious about the world. Form beliefs that work for you. You are allowed to change them as you evolve. Find connection in a way that feels right for you because it’s a deeply personal experience between you and God. Talk to that which is bigger than you. Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re doing it right or wrong. There’s no such thing.

You can have a deeply fulfilling life and not be happy all the time. The unhappy times are part of an overall fulfilling life. We need both the good and the ugly. It’s all welcome. So take the pressure off yourself. Let that bring you peace.

And, above all else, follow your heart. It always knows the way.
